LEADERSHIP COBB CLASS OF 2010

The Leadership Cobb Class of 2010 is thrilled about the upcoming year! Class members heard from Atlanta City Councilwoman President Lisa Borders during orientation at the Murray Arts Center and are getting ready to perform their skits at Fall Retreat! The Myers-Briggs evening was a great success and Linda Beggs ('96) did a wonderful job facilitating the results.
This week is Fall Retreat up at Amicalola State Park and the class is eager and excited! Many thanks to the committee, chaired by Chris Martin ('07) and Blair Waldron ('01), for planning a week that is certain to be unforgettable!

COBB YOUTH LEADERSHIP

The 2009-2010 Cobb Youth Leadership class kicked off a great year with 50 excited students. Click here to view the new class.
The students began their year with the Orientation on August 17th. The new Cobb County Safety Village hosted the new class and parents. Jason Waters ('06), LCAA President-Elect, presented the two merit scholarships to two deserving students. Michelle Lee, Wheeler High School, was awarded the Patty Mozley Scholarship and Daniel O’Meara, Harrison High School, was awarded the Jack Wilson Endowment Scholarship.
The students then participated in a panel discussion with past CYL alumni, Tricia Newton ('07) and Gant Adams ('08) and two of the youth steering committee leaders. Meanwhile, the parents had the opportunity to ask some of the youth steering committee leaders questions about CYL and their experiences.
The class had a great time at the Fall Retreat this past weekend, up at Camp Glisson in Dahlonega. They participated in numerous team building activities, such as an obstacle course, and ended the night on Saturday with a bonfire.
