Outstanding Partners In Education
Each school year, schools are given the opportunity to nominate a Partner in Education that they feel have gone above and beyond to help their school. This year an Outstanding Partner in Education was chosen from each Cobb Chamber of Commerce area council. The winner was given their award at that prospective area council.

Acworth United Methodist Church sponsors the Awtrey Middle School’s Middle School Outreach Program, which provides a safe and healthy after school environment with academic support and extracurricular activities.

Mount Paran North Church of God have served as tutors weekly to students, held a back to school supply distribution drive, participated in “Are You Smarter than a 6th Grader” CRCT preparation, assembled and hand delivered fully stocked “moving survival kits” at the end of the year to all teachers, provided space at the church for the school’s honor ceremony because their gym was under construction, and even sponsored 350 silk screened polo shirts for
the fine arts department so they would have uniform performance apparel for Marietta Sixth Grade Academy.

Piedmont Church assists in a wide variety of events at Sprayberry High School including the Teacher Recognition Program, the Character Education program, Football Fridays, and the Easter Egg Drop, a first time event that brought out over 8,000 people to the school’s stadium.

Refuge West Church (pictured at right) provides the school with a wide variety of resources ranging from a welcome back breakfast for the entire staff each August
, school supplies throughout the year, providing holiday assistance for students and running two afterschool programs for the students at Hollydale Elementary School.

Sylvan Buckhead-Vinings Learning Center
(pictured at right) implemented a variety of activities including holding a writing contest and book review
contest, assisting with the spelling bee, reading to students, holding a workshop for parents on how to prepare for the CRCT, and participating in Family Fun and Fitness Night at Nickajack Elementary School.
