2009 Small Business of the Year 

   Epic Response has been named the 2009 Small Business of the Year by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and AJC Media Solutions at the Chamber's First Monday Breakfast on June 1.
Founded in 1995, Kennesaw based EPIC Response is a turn-key, full service provider of disaster recovery solutions for customers experiencing or seeking to avoid unexpected property damage. Working proactively, EPIC helps clients address service needs before, during and after an emergency situation.
   Owner and CEO Jason McGahee and the EPIC team provide superior, 24/7 disaster response solutions to clients primarily in the Southeast with services including structural dehumidification, environmental and mold remediation, specialized cleaning and decontamination, and reconstruction. Additionally, EPIC has grown its emergency response capabilities substantially in the areas of catastrophe response, large-loss and commercial disaster resolution and has one of the largest inventories of emergency equipment on the east coast.
   EPIC has well-developed remote response capabilities and substantial planning and logistical experience supported by state-of-the-art equipment and transportation resources. Rapidly mobilizing tents, power, water, a satellite communications trailer and other necessities EPIC has the capability to operate and house its workforce on location at a disaster.
   EPIC maintains a high level of service for clients with a unique in-house Training and Education Center, focused customer support personnel, highly structured processes, an overriding concern for ethics and the highest achievable standards for service quality.
   Today EPIC has grown to more than 40 employees who collaborate with 55 subcontractors and is actively involved in the community. EPIC continues to experience business success despite the current economy’s challenges due in large part to strategic decision making which included a shift in focus from residential property losses to commercial property losses.
   As the top small business of Cobb County, EPIC Response will compete in the state small business of the year competition.
