Although she was born into a family of artists, Carla Sanchez was discouraged from following that path. It wasn’t until 2004 that she could allow art to come to the forefront of her life. She has not stopped drawing and painting since.
Sanchez currently resides in Dallas, Ga. with her family and her horses. In 2004, she was honored with a Third place at the Paulding Fine Arts Assn. Annual Competition and best of show in the Winter Members Competition. In 2005, Sanchez's drawings were published in the American Artist Magazine as a finalist in their annual competition. In 2006, Sanchez placed first in the Paulding Fine Arts Assn. Competition for Drawing and placed first (drawing) and second (oil) in the Cedar Valley
Art Lover’s League Annual Competition. In 2007, Carla again placed first in Drawing and first in Oil as well as Best of Show for her oil painting The Littlest Soldier.
Sanchez's greatest inspiration has been her late grandfather, who was a well known local artist in the Hamptons.
